August 11, 2018 - Booger Brooks Bags Red Clay Series Win at Boyd's Speedway
1 On August 11th the Red Clay Series 602 Late Models made their way to Boyd’s Speedway. Where the night would start off with 26 cars signing in to do battle for the Summer Sizzler, with the highest car count to date for the young series the night would produce 2 and 3 wide racing action throughout the night.

Fast time would go to local hot shoe Booger Brooks setting the pace for the field at a 15.509 around Boyd’s Speedway.  Colton Jackson, Jeremy Broome, Ryan King and Matthew Knight would fill out the rest of the locked in spots and set the field for the Dash for Cash presented by #FATBOYRACING.

Heat one would see Daniel Brewer jump out front and go onto win the heat and give himself the 7th starting spot in the feature. Heat two would go to Matt Steward while the rest of the heat was highly contested with three wide racing until Mitchell Keaton tagged the outside wall in turn one, ending his night.   The Dash for Cash was just as exciting as the drivers where racing for an extra $100 and there spots where chosen by kids from the stands. Colton Jackson, Jeremy Broome and Justin Winters were racing 2-3 wide for the first three laps. After seeing the nose of Jeremy Broome on the outside, Colton Jackson threw a slider in an attempt to break Jeremy’s momentum. The two cars would make contact leaving the door open for Justin Winters to drive by and pickup the extra $100.

1In the feature it would see Booger Brooks jump out to the lead and never let it go. However there was again 2 and 3 wide racing throughout the field.  On lap 4 Matt Thompson and Mark Ramsey would get together down the front straightaway and bring out the caution for debris. The field would stack back up and go green until lap 11 when Tyler Peavey would get loose in turn 2 and spin it round. On lap 13 Tyler Peavey again would be involved with a caution as him and Daniel Crew would get together in turn one and spin.  The field would go green the rest of the remaining laps. However first race winner Ryan King began to catch Booger Brooks in lap traffic. As the laps wound down Booger Brooks would navigate lap traffic well enough to regain his straightway lead and cruise to the win.
The TruForm Hard Charger of the race would go to Matt Thompson and Matt Steward would pick up a Knowles Race Parts Gift Certificate for his 6th place finish. Fast Qualifier was Booger Brooks presented by Rusty Oaks Kennels and ARBodies
