October 3, 2018 - Booger Brooks Back in Red Clay Series Victory Lane

On October 13th we descended upon North Georgia Speedway for another 30 laps and $1500. The racing surface was good and fast for the evenings events.
With 22 cars signed for the evening Booger Brooks would top Rusty Oaks Kennels and ARBodies qualifying with a lap of 14.027 around the facility.
That would set up for two heats and a dash. Heat one would be lead by Ryan Knight and Chip Brindle. Ryan and Chip would run nose to tail for all 8 laps with Chip making several attempts to pass Ryan but to no avail.  Heat number two would see Colton Jackson and Duane Dodson on the front row. Colton would jump out to the lead but would wreck on lap due to a part failure. Duane Dodson would go onto win heat number two.
The Dash for Cash would see the top six locked in from qualifying locked in and inverted for the start. Jesse Goss and Jacob Parris would lead them to the green. Jesse would pick up the win and the extra $100 from #Fatboyracing.

As the drivers lined up for the feature the fans would see Booger Brooks and Shannon Graham on the front row. Booger Brooks would get the leaders spot getting to turn one at the drop of the green.  Shannon Graham would have his hands full with Drew Benefield for majority of the race as the two of them would run side by side for second and third.  On lap 2 the caution would come out as 4 cars would park in the bottom of turns 3 and 4 like I285 traffic. Ryan Knight would be charged for the caution and would be sent to the back. Matt Cantrell and Duane Dodson would receive some minor body damage and Chip Brindle would receive the worst of it as he had to retire from the event with the front bumper rubbing the right front tire.

When the field returned to green again Booger Brooks would get the lead as the rest of the field continued to run 2 wide for the next six laps before Jacob Parris would bring out the caution on lap eight for a spin in turn 4. Once again when the field returned to green Booger Brooks would maintain his lead as the rest of the field would continue to race two and three wide with Ryan Knight showing the way around the top and making a charge from the back of the 19 car field. Daniel Brewer would bring out the third caution of the night after suffering a flat left rear from hard door to door racing earlier in the event. Brewer would tag the tail of the lead lap cars as he would set out to make the best of the event with just 8 laps to go. The race would be plagued with one more caution on the white flag that would set up a green, white and checkered finish.

Booger Brooks would go flag to flag with really no contest while the rest of the field would finish 2nd three wide for the most part. Shannon Graham would finish second after an all race battle with Drew Benefield who would slip back to fifth at the stripe. Duane Dosdon would capitalize on others miss fortune and come home third. Jesse Goss would also make good on his eight place starting spot and come fourth for the evening.  Booman Gallaway would be the Knowles Race Parts sixth place finisher and the Truform Race Products Hard Charger winner as he came from twelfth place. Rob Johnson would avoid the wrecks and hang on for seventh place. Daniel Brewer would take advantage of the green white checkered and slip past a couple cars to rally to eighth place. Ryan Knight would also rally from deep in the field to finish ninth and Parris Simmons would round out the top ten.
