October 20, 2018 - Three-In-A-Row for Booger Brooks in Red Clay Series Competition
1 The Red Clay Series returned to North Georgia Speedway this past weekend on October 20th for the Halloween Bash, where they would have 20 cars registered for the night's program.

Booger Brooks would again claim the ARBodies and Rusty Oaks Kennels fast time but followed closely by Colton Jackson, Daniel Brewer, Pete Cochran, Justin Winters and Ryan Knight. Those cars would make up your Dash For Cash later in the night.

Heat race one would see Brad Thomas and Drew Benefield on the front row. After several slide jobs and door to door racing for a couple of laps. Brad Thomas would go on to win heat number one.

Heat two was brought to the green by Andrew Bailey and Jesse Goss. Andrew Bailey would win heat two with Jesse Goss finishing in the runner up spot.

The night’s features were delayed to bring the cars to the front stretch to the kids in the stands come out on the race track and trick or treat from the drivers. With over 30 cars on the front stretch and at least 75 kids walking around it was a great success.

Dash for Cash was inverted and would see Ryan Knight and Justin Winters race side by side for a couple of laps before Justin Winters would take the lead and go on to pick up the #FATBOYRACING Dash For Cash win and collect another $100.

The feature would see several cautions at the start before it would go green. Once under way Booger Brooks would jump out to an early lead but he would soon feel pressure as they approached lap traffic from Colton Jackson. Jackson would get to the rear bumper of Brooks and even show him a nose before getting to low in turn 3/4 and spinning.  Jackson would bring out the caution on lap 13 and would tag the tail of the lead lap cars. Booger Brooks, Daniel Brewer, Ryan Knight, Pete Cochran and Duane Dodson would be your top 5 going back to the green. Justin Winters would suffer transmission issues under the caution and retire for the night. Colton Jackson again would spin on the back straightaway 2 laps later for an unknown reason. The field would go back green and Ryan Knight would get by Daniel Brewer for second and Pete Cochran and Brewer would race side by side for a couple of laps before Cochran would take over the third spot.

They field again would be plagued by another caution for another spin. Due to time constraints and the length of time it was taking for the drivers to get in there respected positions the track made the decision to start counting caution laps. They field would go back green and this time Booger Brooks would have company as Ryan Knight would get  a good start and drive under Brooks into turn one. Brooks would slide up the hill coming off 2 and Knight would drag race Brooks down the back straight away.

Getting into turn 3 Knight would have brooks by a nose but Brooks would keep momentum through the corner and would regain the lead coming off of 4. Knight would keep pressure on Brooks for the next couple of laps as Pete Cochran would remain within striking distance if the top 2 made any mistakes.   Brooks would go on to win his third Red Clay Series race this season with Ryan Knight turning in his best run of the year so far and come home second.  Pete Cochran finished third in his first race with the Red Clay Series. Brad Thomas would pick up where he left off from Blue Ridge and pick up another top 5 finish and come home fourth. Duane Dodson picked up another top 5 as well rounding out the top 5.

Daniel Brewer would fall back a few spots on the last green flag run and come home in Knowles Race Parts 6th place. Matthew Knight would be your TruForm Race Products Hard Charger after starting 17th and finishing 7th. Jacob Paris would show patients through the night bring home 8th place. Larry Higgins would take 9th place honors and Nick Sellers would complete the top 10.

With one more race to go at Blue Ridge Motorsports Park on Nov. 3rd. The top 3 in points are merely separated by 14 points and are still up for grabs.
